The WQAW Master Plumber Exam Prep Course is designed to help qualified applicants prepare for the Wisconsin Master Plumber examination through focused instruction, code review, practice, and exam preparation.
This 10-week course combines the WQAW Installers Course and Master Plumber Exam Prep/Cram Session to give you a structured path to prepare for the exam.

Scheduled for Success
The fall 2026 schedule is designed to give you time to complete the course and prepare for the Wisconsin Master Plumber examination before spring.
Weeks 1–7: JPRA Test Preparation
The first seven weeks focus on the JPRA test-preparation material and the extensive plumbing code and related information needed for the Master Plumber examination.
Weeks 8–10: Master Plumber Exam Preparation
The final three weeks focus specifically on Master Plumber exam preparation, review, and strategies to help you prepare for test day.

Do You Meet the Wisconsin Requirements?
Important: This course is intended for individuals who meet Wisconsin's requirements to apply for the Master Plumber examination.
Under Wisconsin law, an applicant for the Master Plumber examination must provide evidence satisfactory to the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS) of one of the following:
Journeyman Plumber Path: A specific record of at least 1,000 hours of experience per year for 3 or more years as a licensed journeyman plumber in Wisconsin.
Engineering Path: Graduation in engineering from a school or college approved by the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services.
Wisconsin DSPS determines whether an applicant meets the requirements to take the examination. WQAW does not determine an applicant's eligibility.

Completion of this course also does not fulfill Wisconsin's licensing requirements or guarantee eligibility to take the state examination.

During the course, Vince Kent will provide guidance on the Wisconsin examination application process, including information about completing the required forms and submitting supporting documentation.
Applicants should rely on Wisconsin DSPS for the official determination of eligibility and current licensing requirements.

The Wisconsin DSPS Master Plumber examination is an open-book, two-part examination, with a passing score of 70%. DSPS specifies which reference materials may be brought into the examination. (DSPS)
